Kezia lives it up @ haleys Bar with a Roadblock set.
Kezia is probably the set I was most looking forward to, even amongst the big names like van Morrison & The Dead South, to name a few. I arrived with plenty of time as I knew this was going to be a roadblock, having watched her at the past few festivals and not even being able to anywhere near without getting there early. also, her excellent performance early in the songwriters with Cam, Lady Nade, and Robert Vincent, where we were treated to a last verse duet with Cam on her hit Dian that Kezia has been known to put in her sets in sets for quite a while now so this was a big moment for her
I was in haleys bar 30 mins before her set people where sitting down and relaxing and few where standing at the front and the back this was pretty much the standard for all sets that I had seen in there over the weekend I could see the room was filling up 5minis to go and its packed but people are still sitting as soon as kezia comes on immediately everyone stands up and with in seconds the cue that has been outside fills the room up this is the first set ive seen where its all standing im positioned in the bottom left as that was the only space even getting there early loud cheers as she comes to the stage and its straight
in to the mess I made the band starting it off 3 of the members from shires are part of the band there all super tight and the energy is high and first song is over in a flash the crowd getting really loud cheering at the end of the track next up
House Of Cards excuse the cleshay but the lyrics can I have your attention its certan that she has the attention of everyone in the room shortly in and that bassline it ripping though everyone its some people where not prepped the power and presence of keza there smiles and dancing all what a moment for kezia she look like she having the time of her life and she is a a short chat with the crowd and back on to the music she’s only got 45 min to cram the songs in next its
dead-end & detours the steady chugging everyone is moving a raise of the hand and point over to charlies for a short solo the tightness of the band its like they have been together for years the band drops a way for the end ill find my way ill find my way the power house vocals taking centre stage more loud cheering and where on to the next track
Local Man Star The Slowed Down number dedicated to her dad a bref story about her dad and how he passed away motioning if her could se what she was upto now he would be proud but would all-so tell here to stop swearing on stage so much at the end there is a slight tear but of happiness im almost off I having watched kezia grow massively since I first saw her in 2018 at FSA I know her journey to where she is right now next live it up and another fast paced number with massive section where the crowd are all clapping along next
wings another slowed down number brining yet more emotion this one of my favourite kezia tracks next
country song she had played this earlya in the days so a few new people would know it a little chat about how you need to go to Nashville if you get the chance and also when the word Nashville is mentioned next
Thirties and she made a joke about wrighting the same song but in her 50s and what is would be like for those un aware 30s is essentially about thing's being different now that your 30 hangovers taking longer next
Whisky drinking woman and metion that is the only track to be playlisted on Radio 2 and quick sip of whisky and straight in every one is gripped ,
easy come easy go the perfect track to end the ending where the whole room has there hands in the air and clapping along what a set and an incredible she has the whole room asking for more but that all time she has a mention of the tour of witch I expect to sell out in muilty pull places the talent she has during the set she asked the crowd if they had seen her before and what was nice that it was almost a 50/50 of yes and no witch is amazing Id full expect she has gained massive load of new fans from this just out standing performance
