The latest musical masterpiece from Kezia is a feel-good track that is so much fun that it'll have you tapping your toes, kicking up your feet, and straight to the dancefloor.
We love the story behind the song, Kezia has shared with us in her own words how ‘Whiskey Over Ice’ has come to life.........
“This song is a classic example of a song that was never meant for me. Whilst working on a library album (songs intended to be pitched for film & TV) with my producer Ben Haynes, he sent me the music to write some vocals over. The chorus came very quickly, with the anthemic hook and drinks analogy laying the foundation for how the song was going to form. I very quickly knew I loved the song, and emailed Ben saying, "I don't think I can give this one away!" Once we both decided I would keep the song, I recorded my vocals, we re-worked the music and got award winning country guitarist Luke Thomas to play his delicious country licks all over it. The finishing touch was having Grammy nominated producer Justin Cortelyou mix and master the single over in Nashville to give it that "Radio Shine". What started as a library track that I was simply writing for pitching, has turned into a sassy country rock banger which I absolutely love, and having performed it every night on my recent sell out tour, I know it's already a crowd favourite. I'm just so excited to get it out there!”
