The Haunting Beauty of Emilia's Live 'Backroads' Single

"Emilia Quinn - Backroads ," the live version from the tour.

It's not often you get to review a live track where you were there in the room, but this is such a poignant song for a monumental moment in an artist's career. Their first ever full band tour.

Previous live song singles have been stunning, but this last track of the setlist, the story the song tells, shows how she's giving you a full glimpse into her story and life. This is what I wrote in my album review of this track, but this just takes it to a whole another level. It perfectly encapsulates why she is one you need to see live to get the Emilia experience.

The haunting and raw vocals, convaying so much emotion to kick it off combined with the piano, the tones and layers vocally, stunning surely set to grip anyone who has never hear her before . The way the band enters midway through and Mr. Magic Fingers, Mr. Doyle, after the band entrance just when you think she has given you everything vocally, she takes it to a whole another level.

So much raw emotion running through the space in the track. The way it combines with guitar, “try, try, try” elongated vocal runs add yet more raw power. Thank you, the band comes back in to end with more stunning work to convey the huge moment this is.

Who releases a 6-minute single or 10-inch if you have the vinyl? Mrs. Powerhouse and ever unpredictable Emilia. There is a reason why I'm so engaged with her music, and this track is a prime example of that.
